The British Horse Society Annual Awards – November 2024

We are thrilled that our book, produced as part of the Heritage Highways Project, has won an award.   The award is the British Horse Society’s Elwyn Hartley-Edwards award and is for the book about packhorses and packhorse routes in the north-west of Sheffield titled ‘An Introduction to Packhorse Routes in The Sheffield Lakelands Area’.Melanie and Georgina represented the Heritage Highways Project at the awards ceremony, which was held at Newbury Racecourse, and were presented with it by Martin Clunes, President of the British Horse Society.The book was based on research done by project volunteers.
